Without yet having read Mark Mazower’s book on the Greek Revolution https://halva.proboards.com/thread/567/greek-revolution?page=1&scrollTo=1601 I think it is right to be against exaggerating the role of the Greek Revolution in forming the nation-state system. And it is true that Cromwell and the English Revolution are significant influences. But to conflate Cromwell and 1688 introduces confusion if one is trying to assess the relevance of Left viewpoints. Marxists and Leftists in general are interested in Cromwell and even moreso in the more radical currents among his supporters (Winstanley, the Diggers). But 1688, the “Glorious Revolution”, WillIam III, etc. are not even recognized as a revolution by Marxists. The “Glorious Revolution” is a notion beloved of the people who made – or identify with – the American War of Independence. CASH FRIDAY Catherine Austin Fitts Όπως λέει και το ρητό, “το χρήμα κινεί τον κόσμο”, αλλά η σημερινή μάχη των ψηφιακών νομισμάτων, του πληθωρισμού και των χαρτονομισμάτων έχει φέρει την ανθρωπότητα στο όριο μεταξύ ελευθερίας και φασισμού. Η πανδημία και οι περιορισμοί κυκλοφορίας που τη συνοδεύουν ήταν εξαιρετικά επιτυχημένη, δημιουργώντας το κατάλληλο περιβάλλον για τον απόλυτο έλεγχο της κοινωνίας, της υγείας, των χρημάτων και των τροφίμων. Τεράστια τμήματα του πληθυσμού, επηρεασμένα από τον φόβο και τον έλεγχο του νου, βρίσκονται σε πλήρη υποταγή. Κάθε πτυχή της ζωής και ο τρόπος λειτουργίας της πλησιάζει τώρα τη μέγγενη του κ. Παγκόσμιου. Γιατί υπάρχει ανάγκη για πλήρη έλεγχο; Ποιός ξέρει…. Άνθρωποι όπως η Catherine και ο Dr. Joseph Farrell έχουν περάσει δεκαετίες στην προσπάθεια να καταλάβουν γιατί. Ωστόσο, η πραγματικότητα είναι ότι δεν έχουμε χρόνο για να καταλάβουμε το γιατί. Η ανθρωπότητα βρίσκεται στις ράγες και το τρένο έρχεται ολοταχώς μέσα από τη σήραγγα προς εμάς. SOURCE The results of last weekend’s elections in the German state of Hesse have been getting quite a run in mainstream media. The sharp losses suffered by both parties in the Grand Coalition, the Socialists (SPD) and Merkel’s center-right CDU, finally delivered the decisive push that spells the end the reign of the iron lady in Berlin. Not immediately, but in the very foreseeable future, depending on who is elected to replace her at the head of her party in December. Otherwise commentators have called attention to the beneficiaries of the waning strength at the center: the Greens on the Left, and more particularly the Alternativ fuer Deutschland (AfD) on the Right. While the Greens are a long known quantity in German politics by their participation in the coalitions governing several Laender, the AfD is a relative newcomer and analysts noted with anxiety that the latest election returns now put AfD deputies in all of the German federal states, making it finally a nationwide party and eventual claimant to ministerial portfolios following the next German elections which might come already in 2019.
